Charlie Brown Maple

My "moat" needed planting, so I thought a Japanese Maple might be nice. I went to a couple of nurseries. I left with sticker shock. The cheapest one I liked was $120.00. No one had any foot high, $20.00 ones. ( that would have been in my price range ) So off to Walmart!!! Where else? They had a sad little Red Sunset Maple shoved in the corner with a discount price of $7.00 on it. It now stands proudly in the center of the moat. I think it can get up to 40 feet high. Oh my. We shall see!

The Blue Mist Shrub is in full bloom now and very beautiful. the bees love it. I was hoping that you could see from the picture the tons of bees on the plant but you can't. There is a Butterfly bush behind it.

Tomatoes

I've been a BBBAAAAADDDD blogger. Ok,well, tomatoes are here!! Some of my plants I bought from our local greenhouse. I don't remember what variety, but I don't remember them being anything out of the ordinary. The tomatoes are BIG. And a little oddly shaped. But they taste good! Some plants I grew by mistake from seeds from last years plants. ( volunteers )

End of July

I think this summer was not a good one for plants. It was a very wet spring, then summer has been hot and dry. It has started to rain again and the crab grass has sprung to life. Uggg. I have had to weed wack the street. Weeds were growing against the curb. Here are some bloomers.

Hey Roney, what is the little tree trying to grow all over my yard that I am pulling out? ( last picture )

We need Rain!

I always try to take pretty pictures. I avoid the yellow or brown leaves, ect. , just try to capture the beauty. The truth is that we need RAIN. And everything is brown. : ( I can not water everything. My water bill would be amazing. So please do your rain dance. I do water the veggies a little and they are growing out of control, as usual. Cucumbers should be the next biggie. Time to make pickles!!!
