My "moat" needed planting, so I thought a Japanese Maple might be nice. I went to a couple of nurseries. I left with sticker shock. The cheapest one I liked was $120.00. No one had any foot high, $20.00 ones. ( that would have been in my price range ) So off to Walmart!!! Where else? They had a sad little Red Sunset Maple shoved in the corner with a discount price of $7.00 on it. It now stands proudly in the center of the moat. I think it can get up to 40 feet high. Oh my. We shall see!
The Blue Mist Shrub is in full bloom now and very beautiful. the bees love it. I was hoping that you could see from the picture the tons of bees on the plant but you can't. There is a Butterfly bush behind it.

Ah-hah. So you took my advice and got the Japanese maple? I knew you liked my taste.
I tried to take your advice but they were too expensive. This is a Red Sunset Maple, very different. I might still add in a J. Maple if I find one very small and inexpensive.
