The Moat

This is the latest "garden". Ryan said I made a moat. I think I like it. I need to add some filling. It's the brown strip next to the sidewalk.

garden guards

Toddy and Amber on duty. They will happily catch, kill, and eat any intruders. Isabell lives here too, but doesn't believe in violence.

My Columbine bloomed but it was a little dull. The bugs were attacking I think. The Chinese dogwoods are in bloom now and are beautiful. Coreopsis is next. The bugs have not bothered them. I like to think I try to be organic but I did get out the 7 recently to fight some bug activity.

Shoot, I forgot the basil!

I finally got new batteries for my camera. This Blog is for Liza...... Lettuce, spinach, dill, tomatoes, peppers, ( bell and jalapeƱos ) ( thank God for spell check ) onions, (thanks to Liza ) cilantro, beans, snap peas, cucumbers, and an attempt at carrots.

It's Strawberry time!!! They grew pretty big and almost blemish free. No pesticides used. I started about 3 years ago with 6 plants. They went nuts. I was just lucky that they liked where I planted them. They have full sun and good drainage. My property has a slope into the back yard and the rain runs downhill. You can see the whole patch in photo # 2 , it's all the low greens to the right of the pic. My mother called it strawberry fields. ( it's a small field ) So far I have frozen quite a few for smoothies and made one batch of jam. Yum!

This is my first post. Welcome to my garden! Ryan said I should have a blog. This is a Clematis. It's a red wine color and very beautiful. There are Hostas growing under it. I don't know the name of the golden/yellow creeping plants around it because my neighbor gave me a few pieces and it took off, but I neglected to catch the name.
